Problem

CrossLife needed more than a static page — a digital home where members could explore ministries, watch sermons, follow events, and give online using familiar Tanzania payment methods. The site had to feel modern and trustworthy while remaining easy for church staff to update.

Approach

I owned the full web delivery: information architecture, visual design, frontend development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. The site is built on Next.js with Tailwind CSS for a fast, responsive experience across mobile and desktop — critical for a congregation that accesses content primarily on phones.

Key features shipped

  • Ministries & community — structured pages for church life, sonship, and outreach.
  • Sermons & media — content sections for teachings and resources.
  • Events & gallery — visual storytelling for church activities.
  • Online giving — integrated giving flow with Mixx by YAS mobile money.
  • CMS integration — content manageable without touching code for day-to-day updates.

Key decisions

  • Next.js for performance, SEO, and a component-based structure that scales with new sections.
  • Mobile-first layout — most visitors arrive on phones during and after services.
  • Local payment integration (Mixx by YAS) so giving matches how Tanzanians actually transact.
  • Clear visual hierarchy with strong photography and readable typography for diverse age groups.

Outcome

CrossLife has a live, professional web presence at crosslife.live — serving members, visitors, and donors with a site I designed, built, deployed, and maintain. It demonstrates end-to-end web delivery for a real organization, not a portfolio mockup.
